MOVE THAT FROG - Reveal Day

HOPPY FRIDAY everybody and WELCOME to Reveal day! I know you all have been enjoying all of the Father's Day gifts the kids and I made for the hubba hubba. But I beat it has left you wondering...
WHERE IS SHE PUTTING ALL THAT TOTALLY AWESOME STUFF?
That is what you have been wondering all week right? Well, the wait is over and here we goooooooo...
The next 2 pictures are of the HALLWAY (that is the area I "rehab-ed" for the hubs for FD) when we first moved in. NOW, keep in mind that was several years ago when the housing market was booming and we were totally hooked on HGTV. When we bought this palace we planned on a quick flip.
DIDN'T HAPPEN!
I think we will be here for the next 100 years.
Ewwww, so gross! There was a LOT of clean up
to be done!
Isn't he dashing?? Check out that dark stain on the doors
and the carpet. GROSS!
My tummy is turning JUST thinking about this house when
we moved in. BLECH!
Here is what we did to the hallway first.
Just your typical hallway gallery.

Replaced all those doors with white 6-panel,
got hardwoods, and painted it DRAB BROWN.
Kind of depressing, huh.
(Oooooh, look at those legs! Wonder who those
belong to!! Hint no one in this house...anymore!
NOT after 4 kids! HA!)

ARE YOU READY TO GO FROM DRAB TO
FAB???
(YES YOU ARE!)

Darkened up that boring brown and added
a 2 foot green stripe.

Give new meaning to "Family Tree," huh?

At first, I had planned to frame the trees with the green
but I thought this way it would kind of look like grass.
You know what I mean? I don't know, just different and
I like. No?

We are in the beginning stages of redecorating and all
of the colors that will be in the house are represented in
one way or another in this hallway.

There is the "...life begins" project. See it?

And my GIANT 'R!'
Oh how I love this thing! And it is serving
double duty! See, there on the wall...switches for
the attic fan. Hidden from view until you are up on
it! But heck, who stands in the hallway staring at the walls?
ME NOW!
Hubba hubba was impressed. Not happy that the paint color was TOTALLY wrong with the first attempt. Granny Smith Apple-is like NEON, Hello are we at a RAVE, glow stick yellow. It looked terrible in our house! This color worked out great and I am absolutely loving it!
Now, what do you think?
FYI-As soon as I finish all of the crafts for the America the Beautiful series I have going on right now I have one more project for to take this hallway to the hall of fame! I CANNOT wait to share it with you guys!
Tomorrow, I will be sharing one of my new bloggy friends with you! You will not want to miss this spotlight!
"See" you back here tomorrow; same time and same place.

Meet Gilda & FD Gift #3

LINKY PARTY IS UP TODAY! Please, go add your favorite creations and become a FROG Favorite!
Have you all met my best friend Gilda? I love Gilda with everything that I have. She has been there for me whenever I need her for the 12+ years. I must admit she has seen better days and will soon be laid to rest, I am afraid but I wanted you all to meet her at least one time before that happened.

Here she is! Isn't she a beaut? She is laying on her
blankie. She refuses to go any where without it. She
says it is for safety so she does not burn anything but I
think she feels more comfortable with it under her.
Here is Gilda with her babies. I tell you what those little
boogers sure to disappear but I always bring her more
so she does not feel so alone.
(HAHAHAHAHA)

OKAY LET'S CRAFT!
LOVE MY SPRAY PAINT! I bought one of those
giant paper mache letters. I am not sure the size
but here it is after I painted that BIG boy!
Beautiful, huh?

I also bought this at Michael's w/ a 50% off coupon
and my loyalty card. If you don't have a loyalty card
you should get one. Unfortunately, then you can look up online
just EXACTLY (down to the penny) how much you have
spent with them. It ain't pretty folks!!!
I traced my letter on the wrong side, cut, and
then Gilda helped me glue on all of that moss.
I would have taken pics for you all but
my hands were SUPER busy and I am sure
Gilda would have been jealous. Don't tell her this
but I do not think she likes the camera AT ALL!
Now I am hanging this puppy in the house, which
you will see later this week (fingers crossed). So, I
sealed it with a clear coat and this...
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(That is my evil laugh! Scary, huh?)
I told you, I would never, ever, Ever, EVER
mention another spray paint. Unfortunately, my brand
does not make glitter spray paint. I did request it that  they
start though!
ANY WHO, After I sealed it with the clear, I added glitter
and
TAAAAA-DAAAAAAAAAA!
Well, that does not look very good does it.
the clear kind of gave it a frosted look. I DO NOT
LIKE! So, I headed back to the store for more glitter
and now my GINORMOUS 'R' is beautiful!!!
See?

Does this remind anyone else of the movie Legend?
(Anyone remember that movie?? Tom Cruise and a
unicorn?)
So, how did I do? I am sure that you can go out and google this and find a TON of tutorial. I saw a pic of one on a website and thought it was soooo cool but I cannot not remember where. Any way, we all know how much I love follow directions. SOOOOO, I just made it up as I went along. Now, go make one! I want to see!

TODAY, is a HUGE day here in Frog Blog land. Linky Party #1 Feature! Linky Party #2 Should be up and ready! I hope it goes as planned this time! Another America the beautiful post is heading out the keyboard shortly.AND this beautiful post!
Just want you to know that I am loving blogging! I have made some pretty cool friends, found some awesome blogs, and fallen in love with sharing my wacky life with you all!

FD gift #2 - Where Life Begins

Here is another FD gift the kids and I made for hubs! I tried to take a ton of pictures in hopes that it would be like a mini tutorial. So, let me know what you think!

Supplies Needed:
1 8x10 Canvas
1Can of Rust-Oleum Spray Paint (any color will do but I used Ultra 2x Gloss Purple)
Scrapbook paper
Mod Podge Glue
Foam Paint Brush
Pencil
Sharpies
As many little Hands as you have

My blank canvas! Just waiting patiently
to be be prettied up with that AWESOME
spray paint!
Take that canvas outside and spray away. Start with the
edges/sides first and then do the main part of the canvas.
Ooooh, la, la. Pretty in Purple!!
Now go get all of those hands that I said you would need.
Trace around 1 from each kid on regular paper and cut out
like this.
You could skip this step if you do not have messy kids.
I have SUPER sticky, messy, yucky kids so I did not
want to ruin the scrapbook paper.

Want to know how I made the shape for the heart...
SUPER CUTE! But I actually used daddy's hands.

Trace your hands on to your scrapbook paper. And
cut them out again...
Like this!
Now get your Mod Podge and foam brush.
"Paint" the wrong side first and arrange how
you want them to look. I did this...
Then I googled "family vinyl" (I do not have one of
those fancy cutting machines) and found this little saying,
"Family, where life begins."
I used a silver Sharpie to write directly on to the
canvas and a black one to write on the heart.
AND
TAAAA-DAAAAAAAA!
The "family" could have been straighter but I am
a lefty and that is difficult! Eeeek!
How did I do???
Alright, my HOPPY friends I will be back later with my HOO Are you Post (I hope)! Have a terrific Tuesday!!!!
~Hugs~

P.S. I am still waiting! Some one send me some patience please!!!!

Mama Monday #3

Mr. Monday is back and ready to attack! A-T-T-A-C-K...attack, Attack, ATTACK! (that is the cheerleader in me coming out! HeeHee!)
Here is this week's Mama Monday. I am sure that you all have seen, oh about a thousand, blog posts about making silhouettes but I had to do some and then of course I had to share them with you! For Christmas the kids and I made hand trees for the hubba hubba/daddy of the castle. He LOVED them and we had a blast making them!! Unfortunately, we have never taken the time to figure out a place to display them...until now but that is another post for another day.
I did not just want to stick up the hand trees without something special for each kiddo and I did not want the wall looking like a kooky forest.
SO, for father's day we made silhouettes for all 4 kids but it turned out to be a process, which I will now explain!
Dusty, dirty, dingy, disgusting, old nasty, gnarly picture
frames that have been in storage for quite a while. I would
have no idea how long but a long gross time!

Ewwww! Yucky! Are you getting all of that grimy
grossness? So, first I had to clean 4 picture frames and
disinfect them but let's face it they were NASTY!

Then I got out my FAVORITE spray paint
EVER!!! RUST-OLEUM!!! (I know some
of you use a different brand (which I will never,
ever, ever, EVER, name here) but I still love you!
Check out this color! Textured Metallic SILVER
It is B-E-A-U-tiful! LOVE!
The Princess wanted to help too! So of course
I let her! She is a fabulous model, isn't she! And let's
not forget Melanie there in the back ground!
HI MELANIE! Plus, it doesn't hurt to have one more picture
of my favorite spray paint! I need a shirt that says
I {heart} Rust-Oleum!
(P.S. I am not being compensated for mentioning
Rust-Oluem. I really do think that it is a SUPERIOR
product!)
And I sprayed my old grungy picture frames in hopes that
they turn out beautifully!
(I know some one, not mentioning any names here, needs a hair cut
but we have been too busy enjoying our summer and he likes to
scream bloody murder when he gets his hair cut. NOT A FUN TIME)
While I was waiting for the paint to dry I decided that
instead of watching it dry I would move on to the next
in my project. So I lined my kiddies up and snapped pics
of their profiles, and printed them on regular printer paper.
Once everything printed, I cut out the little heads as seen above.
Then, I traced them on to card stock and cut them out again.
Whew, hard work!
I got some blue card stock (see up there), cut it down
to 8 x 10 size, glued my little kids silhouettes in the center,
put the frames back together, and
TA-DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Oh crud, there are already teeny, tiny
finger prints on the glass. It sure is a
shiny little finger print isn't it. HOLD PLEASE, while
I go clean that off...
Awww, the princess! I did a little extra
cutting to make it look like her hair was in
a pony...but I did it in the shape of a heart.
She is too sweet, huh!?!
Dang, more finger prints. Those kids
love these pictures!
Her is my little munchkin face! Isn't
he the cutest thing, EVER?
And there you have our FD Gift No. 1!
Check how AWESOME the paint looks!
How cool is that? I HIGHLY recommend giving
this color a try! I need to find some other things to paint
this color. I am thinking STARBURST Mirror. Ohhhh, that
would be perfect!
I hope you enjoyed this little family craft! I know we did! Stay tuned because this project is just the beginning of what we did for the hubba hubba for Father's Day! I will be here all week but for now the FROG has left the building.
HUGS
