Homemade Birthday Gift

Princess had a birthday party to attend this weekend. It was a JB theme party, which is every little girl’s dream, I imagine. Plus, it was at a bowling alley. They had a blast! Princess said she almost got a “spare” on some one else's ball/lane. LOL! I did not get to go since everyone at my house is sick but she told me all about it. Any way, this is what we made for her friend. Since she missed all 5 days of school last week (due to illness) she and I had plenty of time to work up something fabulous!

I embroidered an owl and the little girls name on 1 piece of felt.

On another piece of felt I sewed on pieces of sparkle velvet ribbon (so it is non-slip and non of the clips will get lost). Then I put the wrong sides together, did a blanket stitch around and voila hair clippie holder.
Plus, we made all of the cute clippies too. I bought all of these designs from GG Designs

Do any of you love them? Would any like a giveaway? I may have made extras just in case some of you were interested so stay tuned. I have a couple of other things to giveaway first though. Winking smile
On a side note: This is the first time I am attempting to use Windows Live Writer and watermark my photos. I found out last week that someone I thought I could trust used my work for their own personal gain. I have done a lot of research over the weekend and a lot of sole searching. I have some decisions to make, quite honestly. I know you all are more than aware that I do not advertise on my blog, I did not monetize, I do not accept payments or anything for my content. I started this blog as a way to track/journal my business development. However, this little frog blossomed into something else entirely and I have made some fabulous friends, contacts, and am inspired daily by my blogging community. Now, I am hurt, disgusted, frustrated, and you know mostly I am hurt. I am one of those people that would give you the shirt off my back if you asked for it. I hardly ever say no (which is not necessarily a good quality) and want more than anything to see others succeed. But not at my expense.  I am not sure yet how to handle this situation and more importantly I had no idea that I needed to protect myself from what I will call a thief (they stole my work, writing, etc. that’s a thief, right?). I never in a million years thought that anyone would want or need to copy my grammatically incorrect, make my English teacher sister cringe, incoherent babbling and call it there own.
I do not want to bring attention to the author that stole my work, they do not deserve the traffic, the time, or the energy.
I just want you all to know that posting might be sparse while I try to sort this out. I will not be doing any more guest post for any one (at least for now). I am sure other changes will take place too but I am just not sure what those are yet.
I also want you all to be thinking about how to protect your own work! I guess maybe have an action plan on stand-by just in case you find yourself in this situation someday. According to what I have read it not a matter of IF someone will steal your work but a matter of WHEN.
I will keep you posted.

Thank goodness!

Thank goodness, the 1st Grade Valentine's day is not until Friday! I am almost finished with the Valentines from Princess to all her classmate! Then on to getting everything ready for the actual party. Luckily, there is a great group moms that helping! It will be so exciting to see all our plans come to life and hopefully the kiddos have fun too. When all that is finished up I have to "embellish" the party outfit for Princess. I had GRAND plans to make her the cutest outfit ever but I could not find a short sleeve red shirt, a white fluffy skirt, red leggings, etc. HOW IN THE WORLD WOULD MY VISION BECOME REALITY W/O those staple items? Geesh, so it was back to the drawing board...in the middle of the store...with out any drawing. I quickly regrouped with the help of my bestie and now everything will be HOT PINK and BLACK. Seriously, those were the only colors they had. Did I miss the memo where RED is no longer in fashion? Especially, here in CRIMSON and BLUE territory? GAWD!
ANYWHOOOOO! Yesterday was actually the BIG DAY of love and even though they did not celebrate I sent Princess to school in style...

Headband parts purchased from HOBBY LOBBY!

She has the most beautiful eyes, doesn't she. Wish mine were that color.

And then the school sent her home with a FEVER (so she is home with me today, we are going to make some new hair clips)! She looked darn cute though!!
On a side note we measured the kids this weekend...this little 1st grader...56 inches tall. That is 4 inches away from 5 FEET tall! She is going to be taller than me before 4th grade! Some body grab a brick for that girl's head...QUICK!
It is becoming a chore to keep her in clothes! (Especially finding ones that don't look all icky!)
And those bling patterns came from Silhouette, if anyone is curious.
Alright everybuggy, have a fabulous WEDNESDAY!! I will be back later with a PARTY!
HUGS~
