Valentine’s Day Mega Post

So I am late to the party…as usual. Some day maybe I will get my act together like the rest of the world and not wait until the last minute to do things. However, I usually do my best work under pressure so it could be in my best interest to wait.
Since, I have never poked around blogs before around Vday I had a very hard time trying to decide what I should do for the 1st grade party this year. So hard in fact that I did not decide and just chose to do every little cute thing I found. If you follow on fb you already heard that I totally went OVERBOARD. But it was fun and the kids loved it! I am so thankful for all the creative people on the internet that allowed me to spoil my daughter’s 1st grade class. If only I knew how to create digital art the way these ladies do. So with out further ado…
*(The pictures included in this post are from the actual Valentine’s I made from all of the wonderful printables I found online. I have included links to each site. These ideas are not my own but the photos are. All links are for free printables provided by other bloggers that are available for personal use only. I only watermarked these photos because they are the crafts that I made from the free printable provided by someone else and I do not want anyone to be able to use my photo to steal their work.)*
I found these adorable owl Valentine’s as a free printable at http://artsyfartsymama.blogspot.com/2012/02/owl-valentines-printable.html
And this awesome printable to attach to your homemade heart shaped crayons from http://www.ourbestbites.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Our-Best-Bites-Valentine-Labels-for-Crayons.pdf
And look at this one http://www.dandee-designs.com/2010/02/friendship-bracelet-valentines.html to add to your homemade friendship bracelets. My teenage son actually made the bracelets (24 to be exact). He is so adorable!
Mini Candy Wrappers were available as the Ucreate Free Printable for the month of January here they were created by cards for you and you can find that etsy shop here. or just click this link cardsforyoushop.etsy.com
I also made the Hershey Kiss ring that was featured in the Family Magazine this month. Here is the online version but if you do not have a subscription to the magazine you should get one. It is awesome! The kids love when it come in the mail. ( http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/let-friendship-ring-1033792/)

Then I saw this adorable little eraser printables from Super Mom Moments found here http://www.supermommoments.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/PinkEraserMistakeValentinePrintable.pdf. I ran out of tiny little baggies so I just stapled the eraser on the inside and they stayed put.
When I saw these bath bombs at Skip to My Lou found here http://www.skiptomylou.org/2009/02/05/how-to-make-bath-bombs/ I thought initially they were suckers and then could not get the idea out of my head so I made them. I did not use the printable out of fear of getting kicked out of school for a zero tolerance policy (THANKS MOM, for that common sense).
It seemed like a lot but really I don’t think it was…
Everything fit nicely into a pencil pouch (I just happened to have laying around). Actually, I about kicked myself when I found a box of pencil pouches in the basement. I was a little upset that they did not also make there way to Joplin when I donated all of my teaching stuff over the summer.
I created this little “Happy Valentine’s Day” paper for the front of the package and I made one for the other side too but the picture did not come out.
We added the free Lorax Valentine Printable that I read about on Ginger Snap Crafts that can be found here http://loraxtoolkit.tumblr.com/
And for the grand finish…the outfit. I must admit that I had planned something way more grand but could not find what I needed any where and then little lady got sick (she missed all 5 days last week) so the outfit was mostly store bought at Target and had none of the fabulous embellishments I had planned. She looked cute anyway.
When I saw the I LOVE TO CREATE painted chucks found here http://ilovetocreateblog.blogspot.com/2012/01/ahh-shucks-you-painted-me-chucks-for.html  I JUST HAD TO MAKE THEM. A) I am a SUPER SUCKER for Chucks B) I love glitter and sparkle. I figure what more could one ask for!??!? Here are the ones I made for Princess.
I bleached out the sides with the word “love”
It was about this moment that she decided she would be able to go to school after all. UGH, day 5 of being home.
And then I added a little matching ribbon to the laces. I am jazzy like that.
She did start feeling better after lunch so I took her with me to the party and let her ride the bus home. Here are the links to some of the games we played.
Conversation Heart Estimation (http://www.littlegiraffes.com/heart%20estimate.pdf) – I made a printable for this and we put our own spin on it by add red hots, marshmallows, and poms poms to the estimation and counting.

We also played “HIDE the HEART” and Chopstick Race which another room mom suggested, I am not sure if there is a link for those games. The kids loved it. Here is the heart I made for that game.
That is it! And believe me that was enough! Whew, so much fun but so glad it over!!
I HOPE I DID NOT ACCIDENTLY FORGET TO LINK TO ANYONE. IF YOU NOTICE THAT I DID NOT GIVE SOMEONE CREDIT PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO THAT I CAN FIX IT IMMEDIATELY.
